One of the greatest blessings of Anna Maria Island is experiencing our beautiful sunsets. No matter what weather the day brings you can almost always promise a spectacular sunset every evening on the Gulf Coast.
If you don’t happen to be staying at a beachfront property then there are countless beach access points to watch the sunset from. We’ve rounded up some of our favorite places to go to watch the sunset on AMI.
Bean Point
On the Northern point of Anna Maria is our favorite place to watch a sunset, Bean Point. It’s arguably one of the most quiet and serene places to view the sunset and you get an amazing view of the Sunshine Skyway and may get a visit from some wildlife, too.
Sandbar or Beach House Restaurant
Longtime staples of AMI, the Sandbar (North End of AMI) and Beach House Restaurant (Bradenton Beach) are great places to grab a bite to eat and a glass of wine while you watch the sun go down right from your table! With your toes in the sand and your dinner taken care of, what’s not to love about a sunset at The Sandbar or Beach House?
Beach Bistro
A lovely place to have a nice date night out with some fine-dining and a view of the sunset, too! Located in Holmes Beach, the Beach Bistro offers an exciting menu and an experience that will truly make you forget all your worries.
Coquina
On the South End of AMI, right before Longboat Key, Coquina Beach is a great place to pull up, park, and take in the sights. It’s also a great spot to see boats coming in and out through the orange skies.
Manatee Public Beach
A great place for families to enjoy the sunset with lots of parking, live music, and refreshments available for purchase right on the beach! It’s a spacious spot with plenty of room for little ones to play and for visitors of any age to enjoy the peace of a beachfront sunset.

Of course, the preferred way to catch a sunset on AMI? By boat! There’s nothing like cruising through the calm waters as the sky is painting like a warm masterpiece and often a goodnight visit from some dolphins.
